Hi Warriors,
Here are my symptoms for this transfer's two week wait-- it unfortunately did not stick this time, but thought I'd still share my symptoms just to show how similar pregnancy and period symptoms can be and how much infertility is a mind game.
Day of Transfer: 11/8/23
My lining on the ultrasounds was HUGE! Looked ready to take in baby :)
The second I laid down in curtain room #6 after emptying my bladder, I immediately started cramping. I don't recall cramping that early with my other transfers, so we will see!
When I got home, I was EXHAUSTED (thanks Valium). The cramping continued, but I mainly slept the rest of the day.
1 DPT (Day Post Transfer): 11/9/2
Blood draw at my Immunologist: resulted in increasing my Thyroid medication and lowering my Progesterone (now only 1.5CC PIO instead of 2! Yay!)
Cramping continued! Not sure if it's a good sign or not but I'll take it! Something's definitely happening down there, hopefully what I think it is!
Tender breasts and super bloated
Went on a family walk to get some fresh air and to stretch!
Still exhausted :)
Have a huge appetite!
2 DPT: 11/10/23
Cramping subsided for most of the morning, then quickly came back throughout the day.
Went to Target cause ya girl is a Target girl, and walked around a little.
Started to have what I'd consider "aches" and stretching feeling on top of cramping.
Stomach ached a little-- not sure if it was something I ate or related to transfer.
Still eating like crazy
3DPT: 11/11/23
Cramping was minimal in the morning again, but once I got up and moving, they started.
A little bit of nausea throughout the day (not sure if it's something I ate!)
Feeling very achy throughout the day (constantly) but came in waves
Bubbly stretchy feeling
Praying for a VFP (very faint positive) tomorrow morning!
4DPT: 11/12/23
Took a test, didn't see anything and started freaking out!
I've gotten positives by now with my other transfers, so starting to doubt.
Symptoms slowed down, very mild cramping
Rapid heart rate
5DPT: 11/13/23
Took another test because I am crazy, thought I saw something but can't be 100% sure!
Super tired and a little crampy here and there
Got my blood drawn and spoke with the nurse: she said the embryo most likely hasn't even implanted yet! She said 75% of her patients don't get a positive on 5DPT. So there is still hope! Praying praying PRAYING.
Rapid heart rate
6DPT: 11/14/23
Woke up crampy which I am taking!!!
SO TIRED oh my goodness. Getting through work was rough! I went straight to the couch when I got home!
Had some more aches and flutters
Trying not to test until 10DPT. Wish me luck!
7DPT: 11/15/23
Found out from my doctor that I will have to do IVIG infusion once I have a positive pregnancy test. Not looking forward to this at all, but trying to stay positive.
The exhaustion is REAL. Oh my goodness. Not sure if it is pregnancy related of stress, but trying to keep an open mind and stayed relax!
Had an intense cramp in the morning, and consistent small cramps and aches throughout the day. Not as crampy as the previous days, though but they still come and go.
Had more of a stomach ache today, couldn't tell if was cramping or something more
8DPT: 11/16/23
Woke up very crampy and achey.
Tender breasts and nipple changes (both in color and size), especially at night
Still very tired, went to bed early!
Cramping continued throughout the day
Increased some of my meds per my doctor (Pred and Tacro) so I am kind of dizzy
Sense of smell is slowly intensifying
9DPT: 11/17/23
Woke up with little to no symptoms, but when I was getting ready for the day, I started cramping
INTENSE cramping continued throughout the day, coming in waves, similar to 1DPT and 2DPT
Some lower back pain
BIG appetite!
Still extremely tired, want to nap all day!
Urgency to pee is higher
10DPT: 11/18/23
BFN (big fat negative)
Heartbroken
Not giving up!
Post Failed Transfer phone call with Immunologist:
I could have had what is called an immune flare which explains my rapid heart rate and extreme exhaustion (basically my immune system was alerted that something foreign was in my body and started acting up).
With this, we learned that I will have to start IVIG for our next transfer on top of my medicine I am already taking to suppress my immune system even more so baby has a chance to implant and grow.
Moving Forward:
We are not sure what we are going to do, but we are not giving up!
We have two embryo's left: one low-mosaic and one abnormal embryo
We might transfer the low-mosaic embryo in January, or go straight into another egg retrieval depending on what our doctors suggest.
IVIG is definitely in the future, so we are curious to see how this will effect things moving forward.
Counting Our Blessings:
We are so thankful to have found our immunologist and to be finally getting the answers we've prayed for
We are thankful that this was not another "loss" or miscarriage. We prayed the night before transfer and asked God to please not let the baby stick if it will lead to another loss. Looked like He is hearing us!
We are thankful for all of the support from our friends, families and co-workers.
We are thankful for our jobs' flexibility with our infertility journey as well as our insurance which looks like we should have some coverage for my IVIG treatments.
baby dust,
