I'm Still A Mom

Hi Warriors in the Waiting,

Well, here it is. Another Mother's Day. "Childless".

But this Mother's Day, at least for me, is a little different.

Last year on this day, I prayed constantly that I would be a mom the following Mother's Day. And my prayer was answered, TWICE!

After losing Isaiah and Baby Girl in less than a year from each other, they are still my babies, and I am still a mom. They are just not with me (sort of).

Have you heard of Microchimerism? No, it's not a made up word, even though it sounds like it. It's when during pregnancy, the mother and fetus exchange DNA and cells. Those cells can remain in the mother's bone and blood for decades. So yes, your babe(s) are still with you.

I am thankful to be their mom. I cannot wait to see them someday, and I know they are smiling down at me, and rooting for me to have a sibling for them here on earth someday.

Hopefully, next Mother's Day will be a little different.
